Spoiler Alerts may apply.

Looks like the a new sourcebook and the elf players will be very happy. Those that don't like Finecast will be upset...

I could believe this list. I've heard that GW had to push back whatever release they had planned for December due to the film studio. This list doesn't look like what you would expect with the movie release (i.e. I'd expect Smaug or some box game of some sort). This looks like it could be something they moved up to replace whatever they had to pull?

At any rate, this stuff seems interesting and, maybe I'm just getting used to the sticker shock, but some prices don't seem to over the top. Although, $40 for a plastic box with 12 figs (unless they are mounted) seems a bit steep. I know my Wood Elf plastics are old and bland but I have enough so I don't feel compelled to buy new stuff from GW at this point anyway. Although that could change once I see what this stuff looks like.

Spoilers

I agree... I wonder if in the original two part movie, he only showed up in his human form.

My personal take on this list is that this is the items that were part of the planned Part 1 movie release. I expect we'll get some Dol Guldor orcs, bats, and other baddies.... And Bard and some other Laketown models... Oh yea, and a dragon.... Later next year.

The Internet rumors was there wouldn't be another new boxed starter set... Again, this fits I with the planned two part movie release.

I will get the new book and I'm not sure what else at this point. I'm sure the elves will suck me in at some point thought my current 2014 plans don't have me playing elves.

The barrels look pretty cool. I'm digging on these new elves too, especially the palace guard.

Personally, I think the Elf Rangers are the best of the bunch.

Well, it seems the plastic box sets come with only 10 models now... So there goes the "good price"

Nice models though.
