Garrison of Dale

The Warriors of Dale are my latest acquisition. Their stats are identical to the Numenoreans so they aren't a bad force. I'm going to use one of my Kings of Men figures to act as the leader (and the King of Dale). Given the difference between a
King of Men and a Captain of Dale is just armour and Will it's a decent proxy.

Garrison of Dale

4 Warriors of Dale with shield
6 Warriors of Dale with spear & shield

Captain of Dale with shield

Captain of Dale with shield

Captain of Dale with shield

Captain of Dale
12 Warriors of Dale with bow

Captain of Dale

Points = 999
Models = 81
Warbands = 7

Seven captains provides a fair amount of Might and if I can congregate them together than I have a very strong combat team that can feed off each other's heroic actions and be able to cut through even the toughest armoured foes. It's hard to stop 7 heroes even for a bunch of wraiths. Seven warbands gives me the ability to dominate deployment and none of my heroes are at risk for being caught by themselves. Even if I face off against some of the Goblin hordes in my environment I think I'll do just fine as I won't be outnumbered that badly and I have the advantage of quality on my side as well.

I need to give this force some playtime, but I should be able to do that in the next few weeks. in the meantime I need to get these guys painted.

Its good to see that there is still enthusiasm somewhere for the game. It is dead, dead, dead here in Florida. Hundreds of figs going unused. The one tournament with the new composition was enjoyable but after that DOA. The only activity the past year was the large scenario games I ran at Hurricon. Depressing.

I get to play on Fridays, but the last few Fridays my family demands have kept me away from playing. There is still some interest in our area, but most can't play on Fridays. I'd like to organize some small tournaments and other events here, but I can't get the time.

That is one reason I like to attend Bilbo's Birthday Bash.
