I was recently pointed towards a set of papercraft Warmaster Buildings that I'd neverseen on another forum.

And now, after about 6 hours of work, I've got a villiage!

These things are really easy to make, and surprisingly detailed. I was also able to find roads from Toschach Miniatures for a fiver; they also sell them in 6mm and 15mm scale.

I particularly like the church, which has a steeple at a jaunty angle in this photo:


But that's because the steeple is removable, and fits a 20mm x 20mm base, and may (I've not checked yet) fit a 25mm round or square):


I need to find a method to either connect or weight the roads, which tend to get knocked about in-game, as I found last night, but overall I'm satisfied given the time and money spent: $13 for the cardstock, $5 for the road file, plus ink. And I've got most of a table's worth of terrain out of it.

Very nice. Always wondered of paper terrain was worth it. Now I see it can be.

Thanks , though I'd add a couple caveats to that:

First, get the file. I wouldn't trust preprinted paper terrain, due to durability questions. It also makes it more valuable if you can duplicate it freely. I'll never need 6mm roads again, assuming I can get the weighting issues sorted. I do really like some of the stuff at paperterrain.com, but it's preprinted, so it's a no-go for me.

Second, make sure the price is appropriate for what you're getting. The buildings were free, which is rarely too much. I got 16 total pages of dirt, paved, and cobblestone roads, plus sidewalks and transitions. Each page therefore cost me about $.32 for as many as I want. Paperterrain is asking $10 for the "European Farmhouse Complex", which appears to be approximately four (including the ruined versions) of the large buildings I used, or maybe as much as four sheets of card. Not worth it for what you get. If I got the file I'd seriously consider some of the more generic stuff, but for one? No.
