Abbadon and Company

What are some of people's favorite units to put with Abbadon? I was thinking Tzeentchy Terminators in a Land Raider. Seems like the Land Raider is almost a must with him so he's not floating in the wind.

Any thoughts?

I always stick him with terminators of some kind and either teleport them or stick them in a land raider. Any other use is rather silly, considering his points cost. In more than three games now against different opponents, they've been putting him with obliterators. This just makes zero sense to me and basically makes them play with a 275 point handicap...not that I'm complaining, but I'm sure there are better places than that.

Using Abby without joining him with a unit that isn't fearless is the silly thing. One failed leadership and that 275 point guy is running like a scared little b*tch.

I put Abbey in a Land Raider with 8 Berzerkers. I figure Abbey can take out MC's and other heavy hitters, while the units that give Abbey fits (Hordes, Assault Termies) can be dealt with by the Berzerkers.

I've used Abby with Plague Marines and that seems to work well.

True, the leadership thing is a risk, but when you're Ld10 with a reroll, it's never been an issue in my games.

Berzerkers are a good idea.

Plague marines are a good choice, they can take a beating while abbadon dishes out one. Berzerkers also work well too.

My hesitation with Obliterators is they are Slow and Purposeful, plus I can only take 3 of them with him.

But I like the sound of putting either Berzerkers or Plague Marines in a LR with him. I'd put a Power Fist on them so there'd be death on the front and back ends of the assault. He could even get out and whack something whilst the Troops go somewhere else, or vice versa.

I'll have to play 1850 to get him in there I think. Abbadon, Berzerkers and the LR would be like 700 points!

thing about oblits is that they and abby can deepstrike in. abadddon can absorb shots that would take out oblittys on the turn they arrive, and it adds combat potential to the oblits so you can't really charge them. slow and purposeful isnt really a hinderance at all, and if you really don't like it then abaddon can go screaming off at something by himself and the oblits can shoot a seperate unite dead that turn.

you don't really need abaddon to add to zerkers since they already are plenty killy by themselves

That will demand some play testing, which is good, because I love using my Obliterators. Although the 3 I fielded Sunday miserably failed to kill a Furioso Dreadnought at 3" range with twinlinked melta guns. That was sad, and then infuriating, and then depressing. Blood Angels never cease to piss me off or kick my arse!
