I was wondering bout some rules for the 40k team tournament. For example in the new BA codex Asroth the grim lifts the o-1 limit on death company, so will my team need to take him in one of the armies to take all death company or will we be able to right up our list with out him.
Also the number of death company effects the number of death company dreads, its a 5 to 1 ratio. So my question is could i put all the death company in one army and have it count as the dreads in the other three armies.

Just curious I know you guys are busy and probably havent started this point of the planning yet, just tring to get a head start tired of my teeam waiting till the last minute.

Trust me they started preparing for next year the day after the last one. As for team events you have to build each army as if you were a solo player with 1000 pts. So your buddy can't finnish your build as his is a seperate army.

So its the base HQ and 2 troops then the other rules for teams with the FA, H, and E units per each teammate. However, having a special char in your unit will only benifit you and your current partner.

I understand the whole 1 hq and 1 trp which is what its always been but the past times I've been there you built the list like one in the sense that if a special character let you take certain things as troops and so on so could the other armies with out him.

I just wasn't sure if they changed the rules on that this, due to being unanle to go cause of deployment over seas. But i'm definetly ready to get back

If each list is a stand alone 1000pt army why dont all of you take astorath. I know it limits you on your HQ choice but if its what you awnt then do it.

Everyone cant take the same special character and we jsut need the rule to max out the dreads to where there will be a minumu of 8 at any one time and at least one game there will be 10 on the table if not more.

Unfortunetly With only having 1 special char you can only have it in one unit. Again as each unit is a "stand alone" army you will not be able to share any abilities until they are teamed up together for that one match.

So to sum things up you just have to build 4 seperate armies and the multiple dreadnaught thing will not be possible. You can verify it with the Adeptus council personnaly, but i am confident you will not be able to make a army with only 1 guy having 2 dreadnaughts and the rest alowed to have 1 as per normal team building setups.

OKAY JUST SOME CLARIFICATION ON ASTROTHS RULES HE TAKES AWAY THE 0-1 LIMIT ON DEATH COMPANY.
YOU CAN TAKE 1 DEATH DREAD FOR EVERY 5 DEATH COMPANY MODELS.
I WILL PRINT A LIST OF THIS ON THE 40K ARMY LIST SECTION, BUT WITH BLOOD ANGELS JSUT IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW THEY HAVE DREADS AS ELTS, TRPS, AND HVY SO IN TWO YOU CAN TAKE 5, AND THE OTHER TWO ARMIES CAN TAKE 4 BUT YOU WONT HAVE ANY SCORING UNITS.

moonshadow... I don't think you're quite right. We played against a SW army last year that had 1 character in it that allowed wolf guard termie units to be troop choices (ragnar maybe?... don't remember which character allows that). Anyway, even though that character wasn't on our table, the 1000pt force that was utilizing that rule was. They may make a ruling that allows Astorath's special rule apply to the force org chart of all 4 armies even if he isn't on that table. The wolves didn't have to have 4 stand alone armies, so it stands to reason they make a similar ruling for BA

Well then, for rules clarification for the teams event i guess that will be up to the adeptus council people. All i was saying is that the normal teams rules states you have to build a seperate 1000 pt army consisting of 1 hq and 2 troops. Then adding in accordingly with teh other faction units. Whether or not they have something special for the blood angels i could not say.

I don't play wolves so i couldn't answer back anything on those units and what they did and did not do int eh team tournament. All i do know is that the special character rules will only benifit the person using them and his single team mate at the time and the other 2 team mates will not benefit from it as they are a seperate team playing 2 different opponents. That is unless there is something that says it otherwise which i heve never seen or heard of.

Otherwise something like the tally list for Epidemus a herald of Nurgle would apply to both teams in each seperate battle and it does not.

Actually, in the past at Adepticon, whenever you have a Character that alters your force org, the do it throughout everyone's list like black knight said. Special rules only apply to the games they fight in. That is why epidimus's tally only works for his games, and why khan only allows outflanking units in his games.

Moonshadow, dont take this the wrong way but you should read the rules of the tournament before commenting on saying how things are done. As per the rules of last year

Special/Unique/Named units that alter an army's Force Organization selections WILL affect other Team Member's 1,000-point lists that use the same codex (e.g. Belial or Sammael) - see Clarifications below

Now this very well can change for next year but as that states if one were to bring Astrorath he would lift the 0-1 Death company for all other Blood Angels he allies with, as per the example the guy above mentioned with the SW bring Logan Grimnar to make Wolf Guard troops.

If you read my post you will note i stated i don't know special rules either for the space wolves or the blood angels. I just noted the typical set up for a team tournament (which i do know). That it. Also i noted as the blood angels have a new codex that it would be up to the council to make those decisions.

I make no declarations of any sort of knowing the facts of his faction just helping with team rules the best i can with the couple of years i have played now.

but hey it got others to jump in and take note and help out. So its a win in my book that i helped him with getting an answer.

I wish these boards would expand to include the games actually at Adepticon rather than just a bunch of 40k powergamers talking about GW garbage all the time
