Warhammer Online: The Age of Reckoning

From Dawn of War and Warhammer Online to Epic: Final Liberation and Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, there have been a few great (and many not so great) computer games based on Games Workshop products over the years. Install and discuss.

Warhammer Online: The Age of Reckoning

Anyone playing this? I started last night - enjoying it so far. It's similar enough to WoW that it was easy to jump right in, but the game play/world setup is different enough to make it interesting.

Anyone playing in a decent sized guild?

I am... I wasted several years of my life dedicating it to Mythic through their first game (Dark Age of Camelot), so I took a couple of years off and decided to do it again!
I'm on the Phoenix Throne server in a small/medium size guild on the Order side... Probably will waste some hours this weekend getting a little higher than level 4 :)
Also play a little on the Destruction side on the Be'lakor server.

I've avoided these things like the plague since my days in the original everquest. I've found there is time that's either split to painting or this.

I'm so intrigued though... resiting the urge.

Is it worth it? How cool? Lots of eye candy? Typical grinding for xp to level up? What makes it more fun?

Apparently when you PvP, even if you lose, you gain XP. So you can go in and fight for a while and still get XP and then log out and you've actually done something.
It's only about painting now.

So far I really like it - it is a bit crazy right now with all the servers filling up fast, but I really like the few ways in which it departs from World of Warcraft (something I have been playing for 3+ years now). Not sure what server I will end up on just yet - have a Level 5 Black Orc on Tower of Doom that I am enjoying.

A couple of things that I have seen so far... Please keep in mind that my highest level is a 9 Witch Hunter so far, but I have played in both closed and open Beta for a bit.

PVP and PVE are virtually seamless... I started the WH at level 2 in the PVP instance scenarios and I have done maybe 1-2 actualy quests/xp hunts. You can advance your character through PVP xp only, if that's what you want.

Gear is appropriate and in the PVP environment, you get a level "adjustment" so you are cometitive in PVP, and I think that is a great idea!

Fees are like every other game I played, the more months you buy the less it is... I believe the monthly is $14 or $15.

I like the server cap (somewhat), and even if you are in a queue it generally does not take long before you get to play...

Graphics are pretty good, and the interface is fairly easy (very similar to Dark Age of Camelot for those who played that.

I'm on Ulthuan as Chiefmalfred. A Chosen.

I have to wait for my retail box to deliver, though.
