Which army to bring this weekend

Postby Generalissimo_Fred » Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:25 pm

Thanks to the AWC monthly tournament I have more painted armies than I have ever had at one time. Which one to bring this weekend?

Flesh Tearers

HQ - Librarian, jump pack, fear the darkness, rage

EL - Sanguinary Priest, jump pack, power weapon
EL - Furioso, talons
EL - 5 assault terminators, 3 Th/SS, Land Raider, armor

TR - 10 assault marines, 2 meltaguns, sarge w/ power weapon, meltabombs
TR - 5 assault marines, meltagun, razorback w/ twin-lascannon
TR - 5 assault marines, meltagun, razorback w/ twin-lascannon

FA - Typhoon
FA - Typhoon

HV - Vindicator w/ dozer blade
HV - Predator w/ side lascannons

These guys are pretty good all around. I've added 2 typhoons and the assault termies to the list. I just need to finish painting the 5 termies which is no problem this week.

Tyranids

HQ - Swarmlord w/ 1 tyrant guard

EL - 3 Zoenthropes
EL - 3 Hive Guard
EL - 7 Ymgarl Stealers

TR - 18 Hormagants w/ poison
TR - 18 Hormagants w/ poison
TR - 20 Genestealers

HV - Trygon Prime
HV - Trygon w/ adrenal glands

The shock and awe bug list I won with last time. Everything looks easy for my opponent on turn 1 and then on my turn 2 the Hive Mind erupts under his deployment zone with a terrible fury. I'm bringin either these guys or the Eldar to the Good, Bad, Ugly tourney at the end of the month.

Eldar

HQ - Eldrad
HQ - Avatar

TR - 10 Guardians, brightlance, warlock
TR - 10 Guardians, missile, warlock
TR - 10 Guardians, missile, warlock
TR - 10 Guardians, scatterlaser, warlock
TR - 10 Dire Avengers, exarch w/ extra catapult

FA - 10 Warp Spiders, exarch w/ extra spinner, withdraw

HV - Wraithlord, sword, brightlance
HV - Wraithlord, sword, missile
HV - 3 war walkers w/ scatter lasers

These guys are my tried and true 1500pt list. Undefeated at 1500pts, I've always had reservations about bumping them up to 1850pts, but here I go. A very resilient list which makes the enemy roll lots of dice, lots of dice. It is a cold blooded Horde killer who uses guile to weave around the mech lists.

Daemons

HQ - Khorne herald, chariot, might, fury, blessing
HQ - Khorne Herald, chariot, might, fury blessing
HQ - Tzeentch Herald, chariot, legion, master, bolt
HQ - Masque

EL - 6 Fiends of Slaanesh
EL - 8 Bloodcrushers, icon, fury, instrument

TR - 12 Plaguebearers, icon
TR - 5 horrors, bolt
TR - 5 horrors, bolt
TR - 5 horrors, bolt
TR - 5 horrors, bolt, changling

HV - Daemon Prince, Tzeentch, bolt
HV - Daemon Prince, Tzeentch, bolt

I have been toying with all sorts of Daemon lists since last months tournament. I'm confident that with all the SW and BA players I will never see Nullzone. The Khorne Heralds are one of the best HtH units point for point in the game and the Crushers and Fiends should have no trouble against any deathstar unit in the game. Popping transports has always been a problem so I am toting seven str 8 ap1 Bolts of Change to open cans and let the Khorne units get at the squishy soft innards. I need to paint up 1 crusher, 1 dp, 6 fiends, 2 khorne chariots and the masque. A very tall order if I was given 2 weeks, but I have less than 1.

Since I won't be playing, bring Daemons so the Warp can be properly represented.
I'd like to hear how it fares without Soul Grinders. I've never tried the Heralds of Khorne, that would be good to try.

Hey, General Fred, what would your groupings be for your Daemons list by the way?
Thanks!

It's all or nothing baby. Usually all 3 chariots, both DP's, Crushers and Fiends in wave 1.

I am rather torn here. On one hand, I would like to see how the 'Nids do as I am trying to get mine to work at this point level as well. But on the other hand I would really like to see those demons hit the table in their technicolor dreamcoats.

Either way gets some pics and bat-reps up.

I wanted him to bring the bugs as i have been working on an orkin man army and if i am lucky play against him. Alot of his victories comes from HOW he plays them as he is really good with outflanking and manuvering so its bring the bugs and hope they have cover saves from my "Exterminator Extremis Zenos". That and i can kill bugs good too
The new Tau = Death at 30"

Time to bring the Pain!!! For the greater good :)
