I think it would be hard to get the Westin to commit that much time to the con. It would also raise badge and event ticket prices a lot.

Plus event organizers do eventually need to sleep. I can run about 4 days without it and still maintain my humanity but by day 7 I am liable to stab someone in the eye with a pointy miniature if they ask me for another tournament ruling. And my biggest event only will have at most 64 people in it. If I had to do 7 days of GW events with 100+ people I would likely crack by day 4 and run into the event hall buck naked, carrying an axe and screaming "Blood for the Blood God!"

Why not get a bigger convention center?

Costs more money.

The man power might be an issue but I bet they could fill the slots and make more money...considering they sold 1,000 tickets in ten days...and last year had about 1500 people last year it's probably going to be bigger...Plus more slots would also equal more money at $30ish dollars a pop.

Location location location. I'm quite sure the bigwigs have searched for larger accommodations that are convenient enough for international travel, local lodgings, and food. Perhaps they're keeping it a secret under their hat for now, who knows.

This could be a fluke this year, since it's the 10th and it's special or something. Or, it really is that popular. Still, it's better to err on the side of caution and have an even fill up than not at all.

Nobody organizes Adepticon for the money. As a money-making endeavor, I doubt it approaches "picking up soda cans in Michigan for the deposit money" for return-on-time-invested.

What if you pick them up in New York, and drive them to Michigan?

Then you're likely committing fraud, and should consult with an attorney in your jurisdiction. I don't do free online legal advice. 8)

Heh, but it was meant to be a Seinfeld reference.
