Top Painting competition!

I had to find this out from a site other than adepticon?!?!

In any case- This is awesome. Just please, never hold cash prizes for the tournaments or they will turn into an un-fun internet build event

Is there going to still be a Rogue Demon (aka a competition that is not decided by 50% internet vote)?

How do the organizers plan to combat ballot-stuffing if votes are 50% of the score?

@RG: Word on the Rogue Demon in short order but it is pretty hard to justify 2 full blown painting competitions at AdeptiCon at this time. The Coolminiornot competition has full categories, trophies for category placement and prize support.

@EC: More details on the online voting component will be made available by CoolMiniorNot suffice to say that multiple aspects of voter fraud are being considered in how the online voting component will work.

Current judging and rules can be found here:

The rules mention 28-35mm. Does this mean 25mm models are not allowed or is this just an oversight? For instance, GW Lord of the Rings models are technically 25mm.

The base size is 25mm, but I always thought the 'model' scale was 28mm?

I would ask that question to the Crystal Brush forum or email.

I know hey are still tweaking the rules, I'm sure true 25mm models are accepted.

From the CrystalBrush web site forums.

Q: "Human" sized figure - will orcs or space marines (which are slightly bigger
than humans, so they can be more than 32 mm) are allowed as "human" sized figure?

A: As a rule of thumb, if a manufacturer states that their range is 25 to 32mm you should be ok. A self sculpted model that is designed to fit in with a theme from a prominent manufacturer will be also fine.
