40k champs sold out already?

Postby The Black Knight » Sat Jan 23, 2010 2:56 pm

I went to register for the 40k championships on Sunday and it's sold out already? If anyone has a ticket they purchased and can no longer use, or had a change of heart about playing, please PM me as I would really like a ticket for this event.

And is there going to be a waiting list started for this, and if so, who do I contact to get my name on the list? Thanks.

We just added 10 more tables.

If you were on the waitlist (that is emailed info@adepticon.org) - check your email - you should have a link with your guaranteed ticket.

Otherwise the remaining tickets are now available in the cart. They will go fast...

Wow, the Team Tourney is sold out too...

What is the expected attendance this year? It seems like 60 days out is really fast for these two events to be sold out, but I could be wrong...

No, your right. 60 days out has been traditionally when registration starts to ramp up.

We are working on some options but want to make sure the quality of the events are maintained. Thankfully, there is no shortage of events and seminars on the schedule for this year.

The response to the AdeptiCon 2010 Warhammer 40K Championships has been overwhelming! The event sold out much quicker than anyone excepted and it seems to have caught a number of people off guard. We have been hatching a plan to remedy this, and are pleased to announce the availability of 60 additional tickets for the event (offered to people on the waitlist first)!

If you already have signed up on the waitlist - you will be receiving an email with instructions about purchasing your reserved ticket.

Now you might be asking yourself, how are they going to run a 3-round, 240-person Warhammer 40K event? The answer is, we’re not going to! Sunday will now be broken up into two, concurrent 120-person events – each with its own full set of awards! Additionally, each event will act as a qualifier for the Games Workshop Tournament Circuit, securing the top two finishers in each tournament a spot in Las Vegas! There are an extremely limited number of tickets available and once they sell out, no additional tickets will be added, so get them fast!

I think this is a great idea! It's too bad Sunday has to end so early, it would be cool to see the top two people from each group play each other!

We thought the same thing - although we know the possibilities of that happening are slim with flight schedules and all - we are looking at making that offer to the winners if we can figure out a suitable prize and everything.

Logistically it might not happen, but it sure would be fun.

I've been to this event every year except year 1.

You guys are awesome!!! Keep up the good work. Adding tournies at this time can't be easy. This year is gonna rule!
