AdeptiCon 2010 40K Team Tournament Primer [Jan. 16th]

Postby Matthias » Wed Nov 25, 2009 12:55 pm

It's that time again. The AdeptiCon 40K Team Tournament Primer will be held at the Chicago Battle Bunker - Saturday, January 16th. Check-in time is 10:00AM with the first game starting at 10:30AM.

Due to space and time limitations there will only be room for 16 teams. This year, the Team Tournament Primer will only require 2-person teams. If all 4 Team Members of team wish to participate, you can register as two separate teams.

To reserve a spot for your Team, email me your Team Name and Team Member to info@adepticon.org.

Teams will be taken on a first-come basis, so don't delay! There will be a small waiting list if we get more than 16 teams registered.

Matt,

Is there any particular reason for the cap for participating teams being 16?

We might have a chance for it to grow.

Table space a the Bunker is our only real concern. We can run more teams for sure. We'll play it by ear.

Last year we only had 4 or so teams, hoping the 2-person format will help it be better attended.

No team Greg Sparks and CO?
No team Bill Kim and CO?
No team Brokeback?

Is it to early to start the smack talking thread?

Greg Sparks will be in Washington State on Jan 16th playing at Conquest NW. Plus we already have our TT entry fee paid for this year being the current reigning champs and all. :P

We're Jaws and Paws for the primer. :)

But I'm pleased to see Brendan and the rest of Team Jonas Brothers will be there.

Painting

Postby BFTrick » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:01 pm

Hi,

I assume that because there are no scores for painting that painting is not required. Correct?

I just want to make sure before I make the long trip.

I'd like to make it for the experience with the new missions, and to see some faces I haven't seen in about a year.

Most importantly, I want to see if Brendan can actually think in a strait line while playing 40K sober for over four hours ... If it's game three and you're losing to Brendan, check his "soda" for "artificial flavors"
Be well,

Dave,

I don't drink "soda" by ordering soda you are implying that you will drink an inferior beverage like pepsi.

No one ever once in the history of the world has ordered a Jack and Pepsi.

The good news is that While I may be sober for the entire showing in afternoon there are plenty of establishments that are open till 4AM in the vicnity.

Also I think this is the year that Team Handsome can take down ed, kareem and Marcus.

@BFTrick

It is encouraged, but painting is not judged or required for the primer.

Your models still must be WYSIWYG though.

Just out of curiousity, is anyone planning to run Tyranids in the primer?

The new codex drops on the day of the primer. The tt staff will discuss and figure out which one will be in effect.
