Are LOTR models allowed for entry? Would they fit the "fantasy" category?

Yes- I'm changing that list to include LotR models. Definitely. They could go into Fantasy Single, Unit/Regiment, Large Monster or Open- depending on the figure.

Can I use a model for more than one category...
for example, can i use the commander for a squad in the 'single miniature' category, and then use the squad, (with the command included), in the 'squad' category?

Negative. The judges won't move figures around to different categories during judging. You need to decide where each model will go and there they will remain. In your example, you could still enter a single and unit, but the unit would be judged sans the model entered into the single. Make sense? Basically, no model will be judged more than once.

Some quick questions, as this is my first Adepticon, and I'm travelling from NJ...
I have an armorcast peice I want to add to a scratchbuilt model. It's not very large, but still, I don't want to be disqualified for using it.
Is there a percentage that needs to be GW, or can be non-GW? From what I understand, there's a good standing between armorcast and Adepticon. Still, I just want to clarify.
Also, is there a base size restriction for single? I'm worried about a Warboss I want to enter for single, but he's on a 40mil base.
Finally, is there also a size restriction for vehicle? IE, can I put something Titan sized still in vehicle?

BB,
I'm gonna have to check on the Armourcast question. As of now- if it isn't in the list of allowbale models, it isn't allowable. I will double check, but as of now and as far as I know, no Armorcast models are legal. The only non-GW (including BL and ForgeWorld) models that are legal this year are the Avatars of War. That may change in 2010.

Single models (and units, for that matter) follow the same restrictions as the GW Golden Demon competition, which means that they have to be on game-legal bases. I might be wrong, but a 40K Ork Warboss can go on a 40mm, I think. A Fantasy Orc Warboss would need to be on the 25mm. The one exception would be that Fantasy Singles could go on a round base.

There is absolutely no size limit on vehicle and a Titan (Gargant, FW Dragon) would be mightily welcome indeed!

Let me know if you have other questions and you won't regret your journey from the East.

It's not a whole armorcast model. infact, it's that silly mega rocket.
It's going to be added to a vehicle.
This is the specific peice:
http://armorcast.com/store/product_info ... cts_id=357
Just the rocket.
Please let me know.
As to the base size question. This past Gamesday in Baltimore, for 40K single, the base size had to be 25mm. 40mm bases were put into large model.
I just wanna make sure 40mil bases will be allowed into single, and not just large.

BB,
I would suggest that, for 2009, you stick with the list of allowable manufacturers. We can revisit the ArmorCast issue for 2010 and maybe even get them to sponsor a seperate AC category, but for 2009, we are all confined to the current list posted in the rules.

It is my understanding that 40K gives you some leeway as far as basing goes. I've seen plenty of 40mm based models in the Single category at Games Day (i.e. Terminator Marines). An Ork Warboss the size of Ghazghull (sp?) would, however, go into the Large category. A Nob-sized Ork on a 40mm would still fit into the Single.

10-4.
I'll try to scratchbuilt something that'll fit.
And as to the warboss, yes, he is Mega armored. So he will have to go into large.
Thanks for the info.
