Eldar Jetbikes, Tanks, Vypers - Base?

I'm pretty new to 40k so haven't seen a ton of stuff out there, but I'm currently working on an Eldar army and was wondering if there is any other option than the clear plastic stands to use for Jetbikes, Vypers, Wave Serpents. They seem to break on me all the time and would prefer something a bit more...sturdy.

I was also hoping to find a way to include the basing style that I am using for these models. What have people seen used, what could I use?

60mm rounds? 40mm Round? Terminator size rounds? Do I just base the flying stand?

Anyway - just wondering what is acceptable. I primarily play fantasy and base size is very important. Just wondering if the base size even matters with these models.

Base size for skimmers doesn't really matter. Chris Hill showed me two small brass screws that screw into each other. I bought a bunch of them at a train hobby store and glued them to the tip of the GW flying base and the underside of the skimmer. Then I just screwed the flying stand into the skimmer by way of the brass screws and they never broke.

The only thing I can think of is that small flying bases cluster jetbikes closer together, while large bases spread them out more, and same with vehicle squadrons.

I had the same question and someone gave me the idea to have like a threaded rod or screw as the support and a nut or something glued or w/e on the model and you just screw it in. You could even get a real long screw and counter sink it on the bottom so it lays flat, using masonite for the base or anything would work guess. You could then paint the rod or screw black and add w/e base theming you want.
