A good reason to update the paint jobs on my goblins.

A force inspired by SlavetoUngoliath's Baltimore GT force. It's just plain wrong. :-)

1 Druzhag
12 Moria Goblin Prowlers with orc bow

1 Moria Goblin Shaman
6 Moria Goblins with shield
6 Moria Goblins with shield and spear

1 Moria Goblin Captain with shield
5 Moria Goblins with shield
7 Moria Goblins with shield and spear

1 Moria Goblin Captain with shield
6 Moria Goblins with shield
6 Moria Goblins with shield and spear

1 Shelob (allied)

Points = 600
Might = 7
Models = 53

A decently sized goblin force that doesn't go overboard into the horde category. At least no worse than my Haradrim can manage and still stay viable. It also gives a model I never use in the game a real chance to be dangerous. Shelob with Druzhag behind her can be fearless (beastial fury) and more importantly FV 10, S 10, A 4, and C 7. She lacks the might of a spider queen, but is a whole lot more resilient with her high defense and wounds. On the charge an enraged Shelob can still do a whopping 8 rerollable strikes and even defeat Sauron or a Balrog in combat.

Thanks, Tim. I was trying to find a new reason to hate Druzhag this morning, and you've just given me one...

Well at least they fixed the mounted wargs problem. :-)
I have the force on my painting table right now. Most of the force is painted, I just have to convert the Prowlers and then paint them. Plus some complexion changes so my goblins aren't photosynthesizing anymore. Druzhag is hard to fit into a beast list anymore due to the high cost of beast heroes. So I suspect the best that will happen is a monster or two depending on points and then as many cheap bodies as can get squeezed into the remainder.

I've still got a dragon (or three) and some Cave Drakes to figure how I want to field with the warband format. Druzhag will seem tame by comparison. :-)

Holy God that is a nasty list. Yeah, Druzhag and Shelob together are pretty dirty. Any kind of Contest of Champions or Kill a King would allow you to absolutely whoop on people, plus Shelob would slaughter stuff normally, never mind the significant number of troops you're rolling with. Druzhag even allows you to get around Shelob's big weakness, her propensity to run. Yeah, that is one ugly list. Hope I don't have to face it.

Nice. I'd venture back into the realm of Goblins, all in the name of Ungoliant of course, but can't bring myself to paint another one of those lil' plastic bastards. Just so tired of the poses and the work you need to invest in order to get a slightly different pose. Here's to hoping we get some new ones once The Hobbit comes out, as there's maybe a chance for some sweet Azanulbizar action in the film.

Anyways, mmmmmm 8 poisonous attack dice...

Yeah, the goblins aren't the most inspiring of models. I understand why they made them in plastic, but the early days of GW plastics were no all that great. Orcs and goblins are the worst of the bunch, though the dwarf rangers have their fair share of disappointing issues too.
