My updated dwarf list

Postby prion2001 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:59 pm

I updated my existing forces to the new books and have the following. Overall, I'm happy with not loosing much in models but then I was never a horde guy anyway. Would anyone be botherd if I used a king model as a captain in a tournament game? Trying to use already painted models in place of buying a second captain.

Durins Folk (599 points)
WARBAND 1: (241)
Balin w/ axe = 85
Khazad Guard 6@11 = 66
Iron Guard 6@15 = 90

WARBAND 2: (173)
Captain w/ shield = 65
Warriors w. shield 6@9 = 54
Warriors w/ bow 6@9 = 54

WARBAND 3: (185)
Captain w. throwing axe = 65
Rangers w/ throwing axes + 2 handed axes 6@11 = 66
Warriors w/ bow 6@9 = 54

Warriors=36 Model count=39
Bow limit=12, bows in force=12

I use dwarf kings as captains fairly regularly. I'm not too happy with how the changes screw over the dwarves. I'm going to have to rethink how I build my dwarf forces.

I second the statement about the dwarf Kings. I've got two models which I'm planning on using as captains or as counts-as Gimli in a pre-WotR theme.

I think everyone with expensive heroes gets screwed. Read: elves-not that I play them a whole lot, but bringing them out and being competitive would be nice.

I like the list, I played a Dwarf Ranger list, that had 39 models, with both Gimli and Balin, fun to play and I had some success. I think you can do well with this list.
