Halloween RTT Lists

Lists for Halloween RTT
We have a local tournament Halloween Weekend. The lists are 700 points with bonus for Halloween type themes. Every local LOTR RTT has been canceled since TOS this summer due to lack of sign-ups other than me and the boys and it’s not looking good for this one . There’s more local support for out of state tournaments. But I digress….it’s a good reason to get some more models painted. The 4 Lists:

Dead of Dunharrow:
King of the Dead
Warriors of the Dead (32)
Riders of the Dead (6)
39 models, no might, not a snowballs chance in hell, but I’ve never seen Riders of the Dead used at all and some low courage Armies might get roughed up.

Dol Gildur/ Dwellers:
The Necromancer
Wild Warg Chieftain
Spider Queen
Giant Spiders (2)
Bat Swarm (2)
Wild Wargs (22)
Goblin HW (1)
30 models, 9 might

Angmar /Dwellers:
Burdur
Shade
Durburz
Cave Trolls (2)
Goblins (Spear) 16
Goblins (Shields) 17
Goblin Prowlers (Bows) 15
53 models, 6 might

Baradur/Black Gate/Nazgul:
Shadow Lord
Kardush
Mordor Troll Chieftain

63 models, 5 might William can’t divorce himself from the Shadow Lord but I guess someone who is the Lord of Shadows would be Halloweeny.

The Army of the Dead is fairly decent against orcs, but not much else. I love the models and the riders of the dead are no better than the warriors. They are good at exploiting terrain, but little else.

I've used the Necromancer just twice and that was with an orc force. It did fairly well considering.

I like the last force from an effectiveness perspective. It is the most competitive of the lists.

They will all get used if the tournament goes off. Actually I wanted to use the Dead but Alex talked me out of it so he could use it himself and maintain his never used an Evil Army streak.....

I wish I had the resources to attend this myself. I have an Angmar force I'd love to field.

Neither are very combat worthy, but they are colorful for Halloween. As long as Alex has learned to play well without Might to correct mistakes then he should do fine, unless he hits a Good army. The Dead of Dunharrow doesn't do well against most of the forces of Good.

The dead being insubstantial don't have any ignore terrain rules do they? If they don't they should.

No they don't and I agree with you. I brought this up to the design team years ago, but it was ruled that it would make undead too efficient at defeating seiges. Though as I pointed out that is how Arnor fell according to their own scenarios.

No special rules for insubstatiality in SBG, that is a WOTR rule.
