Wake up! Some news!

DearAWC LotR community: I hope you're still out there!

I have news-- according to this news article, new LotR and The Hobbit miniatures are forthcoming, to be designed by a new division of GW, dealing with specialist games.

Bloodbowl, Necromunda, and BFG all appear to be making a comeback as well.

I'm sure life has gotten in the way of your hobby, and other systems (bolt action?) have enjoyed greater vitality, but here is hoping some of us are still out there and care about releases haha!

Saw this as well. Keeping my fingers crossed.

And to add, here are some links from the Mile High Lord of the Rings Group on Facebook.

Adam Troke is the guy overseeing this new endevour. He is doing a presentation at the UK Throne of Skulls. I am tentatively scheduled to play a game with him while I am out there for the UK Throne of Skulls tournament. I love the fact they put a Tolkien fan in the position of leadership on this product line.

The boys and I have been keeping the torch dimly lit running Large LOTR SBG games at HURRICON and RECON. I'll be running my big Moria scenario end of April (RECON). I have Dave's Hobbit Town board from the NECRO and his Moria board (with the nice pillars). I expanded Moria to 4' by 8' and spruced up the Hobbit board. It was not great for tournament games but is great for Bywater and Cleansing of the Shire scenarios. I also still run Siege of Minas Tirith, Ambush in Ithilien, Pelennor, and Helms Deep in somewhat of a rotation on 5X8 battlefields. I love the game system and that's the best way I have to keep it going. Still stockpiling minis for expansion and new scenarios. Just the older stuff. I would have liked to do a big 5 Armies game but I'm not well enough off to piss away the money it would take to build up, for example, a decent Lake Town militia.

I was getting back into WFB as LOTR tailed off (Between myself and the boys we had 8 (10 if you count DOW and Ulric) large armies but then I got stabbed in the heart by GW and cant stand to even go in the stores anymore.
