Games Day

Postby acepilot12 » Wed Jul 18, 2012 9:06 pm

Hey Guys,

Kyle and I will be running the AWC LotR club table at Games Day this year, and we wanted to let you know so if you are at Games Day you can stop by and play a game. To play, bring an army of about 450 Points to play against the likes of a Balrog, the Dark Lord Sauron, the Three Hunters, or the Three Wizards. We may also bring an army for people to use, so if you would prefer not to bring anything, you can still play. If you don't have time for a game, at least stop by and chat for a bit. Hopefully we will see you there.

Thanks,
Chris

heh. gives me an excuse to pack up a Shield bag with a few 450 point lists. That being said. I think I know one that I'm going to use first. I'll have to dig up my free peoples book and see if I can do the 65 model list.

For those planning on bringing their own army, obviously use the Warbands army building format, and we strongly prefer fully painted models.

Thanks for taking up the AWC LotR Club torch on this. I've been pretty dissapointed with GW corporate and GamesDay so couldn't get myself jazzed about running a table to support their game for them. But we always get interested players and even recruit some new ones (I think the Kalamazoo guys first met us there) so I'm glad we'll have a presence.

Good luck guys and let us know how it goes (and include pictures!).

Heh. I just painted up the last 5 hobbit heroes I needed to do to field my maxed out Shire army. Now I just need to hit their bases and the static grass. Be prepared for a 66 hobbit force for that game ;) I might need to paint and static grass up a bunch of WOTR trays just to make moving the force easier ;)

Thanks to everyone would attended Games Day and stopped by the club table either to play or just chat with us for a bit. We had many more people play than we expected, although almost all of those players never played before. Hopefully we can keep the interest going in LotR for Bilbo's Birthday Bash this fall.

was it just me or were there a whole ton LESS club tables than I remember from the past? It seems like GD just keeps on contracting each year.

They didn't accept nearly as many club applications (as best as I can tell). The communication on the club tables was also very limited.

I wanted to extend a thanks to Chris and Kyle for stepping up and running our club table this year. I think this is the fifth year in a row we've had a table.
