Which weeknight for LOTR at the Chicago Bunker?

Postby Yakthor » Sun Nov 14, 2010 12:57 pm

Hello,
Now that I live near the bunker I'm going to start heading there after work one weeknight every week. I'll either work on assembly/painting my backlog or get some games in if other people are there and time permits.

I should be there around 6:30pm. My question is does one weeknight work better than others? I think epic runs on Thursdays or every other Thursday, so I was thinking either Tuesday or Wednesday nights. I thought I'd get other peoples suggestions for which night works best.

I voted for Friday. A lot of the fantasy players meet up at the bunker on Wednesdays.

I voted for Fri, Just because it is so far for us. Obviously we cant be there every fri but hopefully every other one might be doable.

I know it is not an option but Saturdays would be great.

I voted Friday. Mondays are also pretty good. Saturday evenings and Sundays are good if we are trying to get some weekend dates put together.

I also voted Fridays. Saturdays and Sundays are usually better for me though.

I haven't voted for the poll (and likely won't since I don't make it to the bunker enough to make it count).

However, I would absolutely love to see the more "local" crew establish a LOTR presence at the bunker. I know this game could grow if we got out an played it in public. I'd love to see some people take the initiative to set up weekend get-togethers were we can come out and play pick-up games. With enough notice, I could make on Saturdays.... just need to make sure my kid's calendars are clear.

I know Friday appears to have won. After seeing my daughters basketball schedule it would pretty much be impossible for me. What about picking a saturday maybe list a few and we can pick one to get some games in.

What do you guys think?

I'd be up for something like this. Would people mind testing some Adepticon Primer scenarios? Just do some pick-up games at 600 points and maybe the Team levels of 700 and 1000? (you wouldn't need to have an actual team).

Would people want an early (11-4) or late (4-9) session?

Typically I prefer the "late" session but as always, it really depends on what's going on with the family calendar.

How would Saturday December 18th work? The other option for me would be Sunday December 12th. For Saturday I could usually do either an 11am start or a 4pm start. Whatever works for most people is fine by me.

I'm know I'm not available on Dec 18th - family christmas party. I could possibly be available on the 12th but I don't know yet.

Hmm... These results are very different than what I expected. I'm going to have to do some thinking. After March or so I will become hit or miss on Friday night and Saturday mornings.

Maybe I'll try to stop in Tuesday nights to assemble/convert/paint and shoot for an every other Saturday type of schedule to actually play.

I know Dan at the bunker was trying to do a LOTR SBG tournament once a month, but no real details on how well that will go.

I think he is trying to have a 350 point SBG tournament either Dec 11 or Dec 18. I need to get details from him again next time I stop by. But I think we should coordinate to support his efforts in this as well.
