Theodoric the Great

In the grim darkness of the past?

Theodoric the Great

Postby Nostromo » Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:13 am

In honor of the 1518th anniversary today of Theodoric the Great, Ostrogothic King, killing Odoacer, King of Italy with his own hands at a peace celebration banquet resulting in the Ostrogothic rule of Italy in 493,
I am posting a photo of the beginnings of Theodorics Bodyguard unit- just starting, but the Goths are coming!

You know, I didn't want any of those Goths until you started posting pictures. ;)

I didn't know much about the Germanic Goths prior to this- it has been a fun research project, and they are quickly becoming my favorite army- though I am still putting some time into my Crusaders-

Maybe Bill will give me a break on my next order if I get 10 Adepticon guys to buy Musketeer---probably not...

Aaron,

Fantastic work, man. Those look fantastic. Way past my period, but it almost makes me want to do a Fall of the West army!

Again, really nice work.

I am sooooo far behind. I also didn't realize I needed to submit a list beforehand.

Aaron is special

We had a huge email discussion about how the math for the Gothic list should work. At the end - the army will play fine no matter which math is used. Aaron is going to send me his list and I'm going to put a big APPROVED stamp on it in case there are any questions.
