Aaron's Rising Sun game in WI

Postby prion2001 » Mon Nov 22, 2010 9:40 am

Just got my e-newsletter from Wargames Illustrated and saw that Aaron's Rising Sun game from Adepticon 2010 is featured in this months WI. Wish I could have played in that.

It will be fun to see it. Dave had me build faction builder lists as well with the special rules I used for online content that should be available about the same time. I hope it generates some interest in this years game. I am thinking of making rules for a cannon- don't have the LotR Siege of Gondor book, but I think that had some cannon vs. walls type of ideas- or the WAB siege book might be cheap to pick up somewhere??

The WWII game is developing nicely I think as well. Matthias watched a bit at RockCon, but I don't think any of us took pictures. Based on those two con games the rules have grown and been refined a bit further into what I think is a decent con game, if not a good WWII skirmish game in general.

You are always welcome to play Jamie!

The LOTR "One Ring" rulebook has all the latest rules for siege weapons. It was published after the original Siege of Gondor rules.

Any one get the December Wargames Illustrated yet in the US, or is it still coming?

Just curious as I don't have mine-

Nobody is signing up for the Rising Sun game this year- maybe I should switch it out for more WWII games! or maybe when WI hits there will be some more interest-

Its always funny to be fascinated with a period of history and think others must be as well, and then no one is there!
Or maybe it is just the timeslot!

I think that probably has an impact. With it starting right after the Singles ends, and an early start the next morning for the Doubles, people might not want to spread themselves too thin.

I have absolutely no problem saying that. Playing back-to-back sessions of Fantasy Warbands last year - even with no event on Saturday - nearly killed me. :)

Just got my WI in, saw the article, congrats! Looks like fun, just not sure if the timeslot will work for me yet.
