The lighter side of the Bunker closing

So, it is a fact the Bunker is closing by the end of this month and moving to a smaller location in Downer's Grove. I forget who reported that first, but i doubted you. Let it be known, you were right and I was wrong.

That being said, if it is going to be a smaller 2table store, what will happen with the existing tables and scenery? Of course they have to take some with, but if the new location is as small as people say, no way can all of it be put in storage at the new place.

Has anyone heard if they will be selling off the tables or terrain?

Perhaps you and I just disagree? I think a lot of the tables at the bunker look great. I would be happy to have a few just to keep things interresting in my game room.

Thanks! ;)

As for stuff dumps, well Homer told me (when he was still there) that they take all product and displays, but dump tables and terrain in the dumpster, so go diving the day after.

Andrew at the Rockford store said otherwise, that it's all taken away by the GW lords.

Either way, nothing gets sold off.

Can't hurt to check the bins on the 26th.

With the Bunker closing I doubt I'll be playing anywhere. It may be a blessing in disguise as it sounds like the new nids are crap. Between bad rules and no place to play I'll be saving money as I have no incentive to buy anything.

This is my situation. It really sucks. Glad to be saving money, but really have the urge to play.

I dont understand when you guys say there is nowhere to play.

you have:

Draxtar and games plus in the burbs

You have:

Dice Dojo and Next dimension games in the city.

Plenty of space to play at all of these venues

Thanks for the info. This was the information I needed to know. I've added them to a map below for 40K gaming locations. Please add additional ones to this map if you know of them.

On a side note, the Geneva store will NOT be closing. I was told by the dude there yesterday that they are not shutting down any time soon.

Frankly I was super surprised when there was rumbling that it would be closed. Why close the store that brings in the most revenue in the county, if not the entire state?
