Great gamer passed away

Postby allen » Wed Jan 02, 2013 10:29 pm

I found out recently that Jon Sanders, a great gamer and a good friend of mine, passed away in a car accident on December 2nd. He frequented the bunker and played in the AWC tournament on December 1st and heard that he had a great tournament that day. I know that his sprit will be watching all of us gamers every time there is a tournament at the bunker.

Jon, thank you for being such a worthy opponent to anyone who you played against.

Here is the link of his obituary. ... jon-s-life

Holy cow. I played Jon at Games Plus a few times. He was a great guy willing to learn Nd adapt.

You guys remember him. He brought the Eldar army that had the scales painted all over them. I had no idea he passed away. So young and such a great guy.

I heard the horrible news, how tragic. My thoughts go out to his family. Really terrible.

Yeah he had a beautifully done Eldar army at the last tournament.

I heard the news soon after the last AWC.

He passed away that night in a car accident around 3 am in the morning after the AWC.

I have seen him around the 40k circle for a very long time and he has always seemed to be a nice guy.

I wish his family the best in this hard time. Very sad stuff.
I knew a man who once said, ”Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back.”

I played him second round on December 2nd. I still have his army list from that tourny.

Woah, Jon was one of my first opponents when I got back into 40k at the beginning of 4th edition. I recall him beating me quite soundly when I was testing lists for my first Adepticon. This is really awful; he was a good guy and a talented painter and gamer. I didn't get to play against him on December 1st but we spoke on the lunch break and he had some good advice for me on some trouble I was having with my condo association.

Terrible news.

Perhaps we could try to get a donation together for his charity at a future tournament.
