Board? Feeling like sheet?

Time to discuss that Woodland Scenics Ready-Mat now, Chad?

$32.99 for a 50" x 100" sheet, or just over 4' x 8'. No idea how that compares to the Floquil diorama spray ($6.25 for a 3oz. can) per square foot - I've not tried the spray on anything big yet. Nor do I feel confident I can get the stuff to adhere permanently to MDF - I have a feeling I'd constantly be gluing edges down.

On the subject of making tables, I also need to figure out where I can get 1x2s raw, i.e. without the rounded edges and planing. I figure they'll make better frames, even if they take a bit more work to make ready. Any ideas?

You can get stuff (the wood) at home depot where they can cut it too. I was thinking of using rubber cement to glue the sheets to the boards.

Right, but when I went yesterday they only had the finished 1x2s, not the rough ones that still have corners (and splinters).

Rubber cement? I've not used the stuff in years. Does it stay tacky, or is it just stronger for that type of application?

Chad I'm concerned about the plan to use 2'x2' panels. For example, I have a 3'x6' dining room table. I can use 2'x4' panels because they balance, but 2'x2' panels would be prone to tip on that particular surface. They seem best for a place that already has a full size gaming table, not for creating a temporary one.

In other words, where is this thing going to reside?

Oh, and in terms of possible Necromunda Terrain, I've got an Imperial City, a Basilica Administratum, a Shrine of the Aquila, a Skyshield Landing Pad, and an Imperial Strongpoint. They range from partly built to desprued to BNIB. There's no reason I can't build and cast some compatible panels, as well.

Necromunda Tiles, a side discussion.

Tomorrow I'm going to grab a 2'x4'x1/4" sheet of MDF at the depot and have it cut into 12" square sections. Should allow 6 CoD panels to the side, and have a 4x4 board break into 3x3 city blocks with 3" roads. I'll look at board sections as well.

Tile Ideas:
Imperial Bastion with Aegis Defence Line fortifications, perhaps a Flak gun too.
2 tile Manufatorum, usable together or apart, with Movement Tray roof.
Skyshield Landing Platform, either alone or on roof of building.

Will look for vent covers suitable to make walkways from while I'm at Home Depot.

I'll bring some Cadians along for the ride. Should I bring basing material, i.e. gravel, sand, PVA/Aileen's Tacky, etc?
