The Battle for Lombardius Prime

Discussion concerning the latest version of the Epic 40K game system.

Since we have a couple of players volunteering to teach games, could we get a listing of who's playing and as what?

In the Big Game, or on the intro tables?

I will be playing as elements of the 2nd, 21st, and 47th Regiments of the Baran Seigemasters, and (possibly) elements of the 9th, 46th, 54th, and 83rd Regiments of the Armageddon Steel Legions.

I can contribute marines and/or IG to the battle. As for what I actually play, I don't really care.

Well, this has been a learning experience thus far; you go in with ideas and find things changing all the time.

After talking with Dave the other night, I have made some changes. We, initially, will be starting with smaller forces per player in the attempt of keeping the game moving at a good speed, adding formations where needed without cluttering the table with too many formations. I have taken my orks and divided them into four groups around 3k points each. I will give each group to a player to control. When reinforcements are needed for a player, they will be assembled and deployed. This should allow the game to progress and keep people from getting bored.

I'll share more revelations as people share them with me.

So, if you are bringing minis, please divide your models into groups around 3k.

Righto. For my Ultramarines Chapter I'll plan on setting them up by company with some support. That should work well.

Should I aim at 3k blocks for my Siegemasters? That would give me a 3k block and a 1k block. Alternatively, I could divide them into two identical 2k blocks, each numbering 68 units, plus fortifications, or not divide them at all.

Steel Legion ends up at 3850, 3200 if I leave out the T-80s.

Chad, I'm working on my detachment lists, and wondering if you have an idea of where different contingents will be set up? For instance, are my Siegemasters going to be defending the city outskirts (between boards) the city proper (on the city board), the spaceport, or will it be at the discretion of the Imperial commanders? Or should I bring an 'all-comers' type list and set up where I'm darn well told?
