Big Game Date?

Postby Bon_Vivant » Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:26 pm

What date has been decided for the big game (ORKS vs. ig).
How many points of painted orks do we need. I'm busily painting.

After Adepticon for sure. Chad said possibly sometime in May. Trying to get Baran and possibly some Orks and SL done up for it.

I don't think we have one yet. All that has been confirmed is that it will be after Adepticon which will put it in April or May.

I'm also doing a full IG inventory so I can see what else I need.

Nat, you want another 9 metal siege infantry stands and a metal siege command stand?

Absolutely love to do a big game after AdeptiCon. The con is like a 4-6 hour a day job for me right now, so squeezing anything else in gaming-wise for me is really tough until after this insanity is over.

My table and Blood Angels are willing, able and ready.

Heck, my squats are getting a bit of work done on them now, I've finished priming black all the infantry I got finally (except for one bike stand which had a bike pop off on me when I dropped the stand.) Now to get the bunker to do most of the rest with boltgun metal spray (the exo armor stands I'm going to try picking up a Model Master Stainless Steel lacquer spray and see how close that is to Mithril Silver) and then start working on the details.

On another topic. I didn't realize how HARD it is to build smaller armies. I've been trying to work out some lists at 2000 points that might be interesting for Adepticon and they are really hard to make. I've been trying to do a lost and the damned army and it's ending up at like 4-5 activations.

Okay, I guess I need to fill everyone in on my plans thus far. Yes, the game is scheduled for some time after Adepticon, I need to talk with Matt and Jon about a good weekend for everyone (Matt for when he can bring out his table and Jon wants to do another tournament). Realistically, we may be looking at May or June. That may seem a ways away, but I want to give people time to get stuff painted.

Originally, I was looking for an almost strictly armored and mechanized ork force, but I have changed my mind on that. I still need to talk to Joe to see what exactly he has and Jon was providing the Titan Legion as well maybe some orks. Nat will hopefully have siegemasters, earthworks and guard. Im bringing guard and orks. I was thinking Matt and Robert could bring marines. I'm hoping Dave will be able to join us and bring his guard as well.

I have the scenario worked out and points will not be used. What's the point, war is never equal.

Chad, do you want a full inventory of my Seigemasters and Steel Legion to look over and tell me what is A-priority to paint?

That would be good, but probably what you used last Thursday would do. Try to get the earthworks painted up too. We could use those.

I would be up for a big game. That far out works for me, gives me time to get the oks from GF and work. THis has moved me to getting my third arty company done. Nothing like 9 manticores fo bring the pain. Plus I may finish my 2nd tank co for it too. Keep me updated and I will work towards getting there.
You start out with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before emptying the bag of luck.

I'll be bringing upwards of 12000 points of Steel Legion to Adepticon, and originally, there was talk of a big game on Thursday night. Not sure if that's still the case.

Dave, if you could have your manticores and second tank company ready. I was thinking those, your artillery, super heavies, infantry, maybe storm troopers and sentenels for the game. Nat, your siege masters with the earthworks would be great. I was hoping to use for the game Matt's. Bloodangles and Robert's ultramarines. I'm just not sure we have enough orks. I'm hoping Joe can help us out. Anyone else? I have around 12k + of orks for the game. We'll need more.

Do you want Bruennhildes, or are you planning on fixed positions? Or both? I take it you're set on SL between you and Dave?
