He has all four marks on him so I would say that he can.

Technically, no he can't.

"An Independent Character with a Mark of Chaos may not join a unit with a different Mark of Chaos.", C:CSM, Pg.30

"He (Abaddon) also has all four Marks of Chaos.", C:CSM, Pg.57

Due to the wording of these two rules, Abaddon has a Mark of each Chaos Power and is therefore prevented from joining a unit with any Mark of Chaos. So his Mark of Khorne prevents him from joining a unit with a Mark of Nurgle, Slaanesh, or Tzeentch. And so on for each Mark, effectively preventing him from joining any Marked unit.

But, that's not how it SHOULD work. Abaddon SHOULD be free to join anyone, so I suggest playing it that way.

Hey, try actually reading the rules to produce a useful response next time.

Yep, Geedubs got off their lazy butts and did something useful! Abaddon is good to go now.

Q: Does Abaddon the Despoiler’s Mark of Chaos Ascendant prevent
him from joining friendly units chosen from Codex: Chaos Space
Marines that have a Mark of Chaos ? (p57)
A: No.

And then they went overboard and made the Helldrake super-powered:

Q: How do I determine the Arc of Sight for a Heldrake’s ranged
weapon? (p52)
A: Treat the Heldrake’s ranged weapon as a Turret Mounted
Weapon, measuring all ranges from the edge of the Heldrake’s
base nearest to the target unit.

Oh, I'm not saying that I fully support what the rules say, hence why I had said "this is not how it SHOULD work". ;)

The fact that there was a FAQ answer at all means that it was a debatable item, mainly because GW writers fail at doing their job good 'n proper.

not true, it just means that lots of people have been asking about it. They answer piles of dumb obvious questions all the time.

Good news! Abaddon can now join any Marked unit, thank you GW FAQ! AND a Lord can take the Scrolls of Magnus and become a psyker after learning the first power, actually so can a Daemon Prince too. That's pretty bad-ass, though random, but that makes it more fun :D
