Dark Eldar save from an explosion or drift of an ordinance.

I am starting to see a common theme happening when my wyches are in combat. That is to explode something near by or hope for an ordinance to drift over the combat. I understand that if you are in the radius of either of these you must make a save. Here is where the question comes in since I get a invulerable save while in close combat but not from shooting attacks would I get this save or not against in either one of these senrios since niether is part of the combat but I happen to be in one? I know how we played it I was wondering how others have handled this or if there is a ruling some where.

Depends on the wording of the codex i'd say. If it says "while in close combat has an invuln....." then i'd say you could get it. If it says "against attacks in close combat" or something similar i'd have to go with no dice.
"What's you're job?"

Dark Eldar Codex, page 27: "Wyches have a 4+ invulnerable saving throw against wounds caused by close combat attacks."

As explosions and stray ordnance are not close combat attacks, you would not get the 4+ save.

This is how we played it. I was seeing if anyone had something to counterdict how we played it.
